This route is for visa nationals who want to come to the UK for up to 6 months as a tourist or to visit family and friends. You can check if you need a visa here
General Requirements
- you need to be 18 or over
- you must leave the United Kingdom at the end of your visit
- you are not in transit to a country outside the common travel area
Funds
- you need enough money to support and accommodate yourself without working or help from public funds or relatives and friends confirm that they will accommodate and support you during your stay
- you can meet the cost of the return or onward journey
Restrictions
You are not permitted to:
- take employment, produce goods or provide services, including the selling of goods or services directed to members of the public
- undertake a course of study
- marry or form a civil partnership, or give notice of marriage or civil partnership
- carry out the activities of a business visitor, a sports visitor or an entertainer visitor
- receive private medical treatment
