Work Permits
In 2010 around 300,000 work permit applications (Tier 2 and Tier 1) were made from overseas and within the UK.
The Work Permit categories have seen some major changes this year, with the introductions of a permanent immigration cap for Tier 2 since April 2011, the closure of Tier 1 (General) applications from overseas in December 2010 and the closure of Tier 1 (Post Study Work) from April 2012.
Below is an overview of the work permit categories we can assist you with:
Tier 2 General
The Tier 2 (General) category was designed for skilled migrants with a job offer from a licensed sponsor.
Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer
This route is for employees of international companies who are being transferred within to a UK branch of the organisation, either on a long-term basis or for frequent short visits.
Tier 1 (Post Study Work)
The UKBA has proposed to abolish this route. More information should be available in March/April 2011
You can currently still apply for a Tier 1 Post Study Work Visa.
